Tony’s Monologue: If they didn’t do anything then we were done. Iran didn’t wait the five days of mourning, and they did something. Good common sense would tell us that they will not revalue the currency while there are bombs flying through Iraqi airspace. While it is frustrating for us with things we can’t control, they can’t control this either. The last time it was Israel bombing Lebanon. We have been doing this dance forever. Maybe they plan it on that day, so it doesn’t happen. This is about more than us. It is about the global economy and all the nations that were involved in desert storm and desert shield. Tony is telling us all of this because we are all getting frustrated when things like this happen. No one that Tony talks to can push the button for the rv to happen. They matter in the process, but they do not have control over this. Iraq was supposed to celebrate yesterday, be able to use their new currency, and now Thursday is supposed to be a holiday. Thursday we are supposed to be in the bank. It is ready to go, it is a go-go, and all the rates have a hold on them so that no one makes a mistake and processes an exchange. If the hold weren’t there then it could be processed. This is a good thing, and it looks like the system will let them do it. Yesterday, they went through the process, went through the whole system to make sure it will work, and that there will be no mistakes. Three letter agencies said they had meetings on Monday, and they all agreed that it would go sometime this week. Three letter agencies are saying what happened yesterday with the bombs won’t have any effect on the rv, only when it will happen. We really are only waiting on them telling us to go to the bank. There is nothing for Iraq, IMF, Fed Res, UST, and the banks to do. It is done. It really could be in the next hour and Tony is expecting it at any moment. It would make sense for it to go tomorrow. They are actually in meetings right now and hopefully Tony will get an update. After the announcement, they do have a plan for Tony and us, but they won’t tell him until it goes live. It still is going to be good, we will still have our good rates, and we will still be able to do all the things we are planning.

Q & A:

-            The holiday won’t affect us going in? It should not and hopefully it will be a holiday for them celebrating this. 

-            Will the rv happen if Israel launches a massive attack on Iran? It doesn’t make any sense for the rv to happen if Israel does that. 

-            What is going on between the countries and companies that have signed contracts with Iraq, and this being dragged out? All these new agreements are only 6-month-old, and they know it will happen. They have seen the new rates and are waiting on the official announcement. None of the contracts are effective until they announce the rv, so they are not losing anything. 

-            Will this be an ongoing back and forth between Iran and Israel? Iran has already announced that they are done. They announced they could have bombed the US bases in Iraq, but the US retaliation would set the country back 20 years. They don’t want this fight. 

-            If you have a lot of VND, could we negotiate for more than the 2.12 rate? Tony believes that the more you have the more negotiating power you have. Tony is going to ask for more since he has more than the 50 million limit on the high rate. 

-            What are the screens showing at the banks? The rate has a hold on it so nothing can be processed, and he can see them. 

Wrap Up: We know it is done and the rv has been completed. We know what the rates are and that the system has been completed. No one is meeting to discuss getting the rv done. It is sitting at the banks ready to go. Will the banks make the decision or will it be the UST. We don’t know what time that means or when it will occur. We are 99.9999% sure it will go, just when. Let’s hope and pray we can make it through this day because we are right there. We are very close to our live exchange. Be prepared for a phone call at any moment.
